The Fishhawk Coyotes youth lacrosse organization continues its explosive growth, as they are in the last month of their spring season. This spring, the Coyotes have over 250 boys and girls from first through eighth grades participating on their 10 teams. The Coyotes youth lacrosse program has exploded from just two boy’s teams and less than 40 players four short years ago, to fielding a boy’s U9 team, two teams at the U11, U13 and U15 levels, as well as a girl’s youth team plus two Middle School teams, and a group of girl’s Rec players in their fifth season.

Come watch some of the exciting action of the fastest growing sport in America. The Coyotes play out of the Fishhawk Sports Complex in Lithia and are playing in the fifth season competing in the US Lacrosse Gulf Coast Chapter. Each year the demand for Coyote lacrosse continues to increase as they have become the elite youth lacrosse program in the entire Tampa Bay area. The Coyotes have been selected again to host the US Lacrosse Gulf Coast Chapter End of the Season Championship Tournament for the fourth consecutive year. The tournament will be held all day on Saturday, April 27 at the Fishhawk Sports Complex with all boys and girls teams participating from the west coast of Florida.

While the Coyotes offer competitive lacrosse during the spring season, which runs January through April, to all area boys and girls in first through eighth grade, they also offer a summer program of skills, drills and instruction and a fall program, which is the same as the summer session only stepping up the competition to include intra-squad games. Due to the high demand not enough field space and coaching to accommodate all of the players, the participation levels are limited.

Therefore, it is important to sign up early for the Coyotes Summer “Sharpen Your Skills” Program. Registration is currently open now. The summer program will run on Tuesday and Thursday nights at Pinecrest Elementary School for all boys and girls in first through twelfth grade. The program will run from Tuesday, May 14 through Thursday, June 27. Cost is only $75 and boy’s shoulder pads and elbow pads and helmet are provided.  All boys and girls need a stick, mouth guard and cleats, and girls need protective eyewear, as well as all players must be a member of US Lacrosse and have a current US Lacrosse ID number to sign up.

All registrations can be completed at www.fishhawkcoyoteslacrosse.com. If you have questions, please call Director of Player Development & Coaching, Brian Lemon, at 689-2070, or email ble mon@nll.com.
