Anyone looking for family friendly community events happening in Lithia this fall need look no further than Lamb of God Lutheran Church and Open Arms Early Childhood Center’s “Godtoberfest” happening Saturday, October 8 – Saturday, October 15.
“This year we decided to make this a much bigger event. We want to involve the community more and make it a fun event for everyone to enjoy. It’s an opportunity for everyone to get involved and to really showcase the area,” said Val Parrish, ministry coordinator for Lamb of God.
Since 2008, Lamb of God has been providing quality childcare in a loving and safe environment in the Lithia community. The Open Arms Early Childhood Center cares for children ranging in ages from six weeks to 12 years.
“The event also gives us an opportunity to rebuild our scholarship fund. It’s for parents who need good childcare but it’s a financial burden.” said Parrish.
The event kicks off on Saturday, October 8 with fun and excitement for the whole family with a children’s carnival, arts and crafts fair, which will have a hayride, bounce castles and a petting zoo.
Included will be a Taste of Lithia showcase, with foods provided by local restaurants and a golf tournament at Bloomingdale Golfers Club. The fun will continue with other events during the week including a coffee night at the newly renovated meeting/coffeehouse on Lamb of God’s property.
Other events include a dinner auction with Italian food and items to bid on and a rummage and trunk sale, where people can bargain shop. “If people want to sign up for a slot. Any and all donations are welcome from the community,” said Parrish.
