Traffic backed up FishHawk Boulevard after a single-vehicle traffic crash that occurred on Wednesday, December 28, at 2:05 p.m., approximately 2 miles east of Boyette Road.
The driver has been identified as Crystal Holmes, 33, of Riverview. Holmes was traveling east bound on FishHawk Blvd. when the front tire of her 1994 Honda Accord blew, resulting in the car hitting the guard rail on the bridge and then flipping the car, deputies said.
Upon arrival at the scene Hillsborough County Sheriff deputies and emergency crew personnel found Holmes in critical condition and she was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital. No one else was injured in the crash.
Homes remained at Tampa General Hospital reportedly in serious but stable condition.
The crash is under investigation.
