Barbara Bailey Hutchison, who performed a fabulous one woman concert last year, will return to Center Place on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 7 p.m.
Grammy award winning singer songwriter, Barbara Bailey Hutchison, will return to Center Place on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 7 p.m. If you missed last year’s concert, then gather up your friends and get to Center Place to see this fabulous entertainer perform. The concert is sponsored by the Greater Brandon Arts Council.
Hutchison’s concerts are filled with amusing stories and funny antidotes. She is the consummate entertainer as she plays her guitar and sings original songs she composed. Last year’s concert was a hit with all who attended including Roxanne Tobaison of Brandon. Tobaison said, “Barbara Bailey Hutchison is very talented in her vocals and in her personality. She made the concert fun and enjoyable last year.”
Anne Drewery of Lithia is president of the Greater Brandon Arts Council and a friend of Hutchson. Drewery said, “Last year’s concert was excellent and captivated the audience completely. She was asked back because so many who attended asked when she was returning. In addition, this is an excellent way for both Center Place and the Greater Brandon Arts Council to promote the arts in the community.”
Lisa Rodriguez, Marketing Director for Center Place added, “Hutchison is a one person show with her guitar. She is a wonderful entertainer, and we are lucky to have her back in Brandon. Please join us for a great concert.”
In addition to great entertainment, the Greater Brandon Arts Council will be offering homemade refreshments during the intermission. You can also purchase Hutchison’s CD’s at the concert. The prolific singer has recorded 19 to date.
Hutchison won a Grammy in 1996 for “Best Musical Recording for Children.” Her alternative folk music speaks to issues of tolerance and human rights, as well as personal relationships and funny circumstances. When you hear her voice, you may recognize it from commercials such as McDonald’s and Hallmark Cards.
While in the greater Brandon area, Hutchison will visit several area schools including FishHawk Creek Elementary School. She will entertain the students with a concert.
