Walking in to Ace Barn of Lithia, you feel a sense of welcome. The staff greets you with a warm smile and an offer of help and not just because they have to, they really mean it.
The Ace Barn store, at the intersection of Lithia Pinecrest Rd. and C.R. 39, opened one year ago. On opening day, it carried pet supplies and occupied just 1,200 sq. feet. One year later, after two expansions, the store now occupies 3,600 sq. feet and has added livestock supplies as well as the Purina brand.
One reason for the continued success of The Ace Barn could be the staff’s willingness to go the extra mile. The store is well stocked and according to owner Kathy Atchison, the staff aims to please, including her husband, Billy, who co-owns the barn with her.
“If you don’t see what you need, just ask,” said Billy. “We are more than happy to special order.”
Kayla Shirley, manager of The Ace Barn, said that the store carries supplies for just about any animal from cats, dogs and rabbits to poultry, horses and goats. It also hosts low cost vaccinations for dogs and cats on the weekends.
Stop in this spring for “Chick Days.” The Ace Barn will have baby chicks and rabbits. It will also special order those hard-to-find chickens. While you’re there, ask about the rewards programs for discounts and coupons on future purchases.
The Ace Barn is a strong supporter of Future Farmers of America and the local 4-H Clubs. The owners have a strong sense of community and truly value their customers. They are happy to offer advice and help in any way that they can.
“Come give us a try,” said Billy.
