In March, leaders of the United Methodist Church of Sun City Center broke ground for the Life Enrichment Center. Opening of the state of the art facility is planned for February of 2013.
In late March, the United Methodist Church of Sun City Center broke ground on its much anticipated Life Enrichment Center. This 14,000-sq.-ft. facility will allow for an expanded worship space, classrooms, office space and a premiere venue for community events.
The Life Enrichment Center will also have a state of the art commercial kitchen and theatre space. According to Jeff Jordan, Minister of Worship Arts, “This will be the perfect place for theatre and community events. We have already been in contact with the Pelican Players about having performances here.” Jordan added, “The commercial kitchen will also allow groups to hold dinner theatre as well as regular theatre. We will be able to seat 312 for sit down dinners and between 500-600 seats for other events.”
The building will be built with state of the art sound and projection technology and was designed with theatre in mind. Jordan said, “The Life Enrichment Center will serve as a gathering place to support community events as the church increasingly becomes intergenerational and multi-cultural.” Jordan added, “The Life Enrichment Center is the result of overall church growth and influx of families.”
The United Methodist Church of Sun City Center encourages all to use the Life Enrichment Center and will do this by making use of the immense and spectacular space affordable.
Opening and dedication of the Life Enrichment Center is planned for February of 2013.
The United Methodist Church of Sun City Center hosts multiple cultural events throughout the month. Events which are coming up in their “Thank God It’s Variety” Concert Series include Dueling Pianos, 2, 4 and 8 hand piano works on Sunday, April 15, at 3 p.m.; The Puffers Christian Duo on Friday, April 20 at 6:30 p.m. and the Eastern Hillsborough County Community Band will perform on Thursday, April 26, at 7 p.m. Most performances are $5 at the door.
