Hillsborough County Commissioners Kevin Beckner, Victor D. Crist, Al Higginbotham, Lesley “Les” Miller, Jr. and Sandra L. Murman are now refocusing on the job they were once again given. The five public servants took their oaths of office last month during the Board of County Commissioner’s investiture ceremony.
While Beckner, Crist, Miller and Murman are each starting a second term of office, voters helped Higginbotham return to his third term of office, by defeating his opponent Mark Nash.
Following the investiture, County Commissioners held their annual organizational meeting, during which time, Commissioner Ken Hagan was chosen to serve as chair for the fifth time.
The board also voted to retain Commissioner Murman as vice chair and Commissioner Miller as the chaplain.
“Although I had no opposition, I am glad that it is over and that I can fully focus on the important issues affecting our citizens,” Murman said during a recent public meeting.
