Minnesota native, Janet Tischart Noah, has worked for The Bridges retirement community since 2010. Her Community Liaison job is a great fit for her buoyant personality and interest in people.
“I have the pleasure of representing The Bridges in the community,” she said. “I also work internally with prospective residents, new residents, tours and admissions. I like the variety and the balance.
The Bridges, currently home to 92 residents and served by 75 staff, is one of roughly 18 facilities owned by Senior Care Group.
“I love working with seniors,” Noah said. “They’re great people and they have so many stories.”
Noah was born and raised 300 miles north of Minneapolis, in the community of Red Lake Falls. “There were 82 high school seniors my year,” she said. “It was the largest graduating class in the history of the town. It was a nice place for growing up.”
Florida was nowhere on the radar when Janet Tischart received her degree in communications (University of North Dakota) and married aspiring meteorologist Dan Noah. “We lived in four states our first year,” she said. “We moved from Grand Forks to Denver, to Madison (Wisconsin) and then Bismark.” They stayed in Bismark 13 years. “I worked at the community college until Dan’s job with the National Weather Service took him to Ruskin,” Noah said.
“I love it here,” she said. “I tell Dan we’re not moving anywhere north of I-4. It was 82 degrees warmer here yesterday than where I grew up.”
While Dan Noah built his expertise in emergency weather management, Janet Noah worked at the Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce as director of member services.
The move to senior care came mostly in response to needs in Noah’s own family.
“My parents were becoming older, and my mom was the caregiver for my dad,” Noah said. “Mom needed help and there’s so much that goes into finding the right place.”
Noah responded to the job opening at The Bridges, and quickly realized she was in the right environment.
