Growing older and being unable to live on your own is a concern that everyone must think about at some time in their life. Or you may have a loved one that is no longer capable of maintaining a home without assistance. Whichever the situation, senior assisted living may be the option that can deliver the peace of mind you need at this time. Savannah Court of Brandon has been offering that and more since 1998.
Savannah Court is assisted living at its finest. Nestled in a quaint yet sprawling estate are 42 apartments of various sizes including semi-private studios, one bedroom and up to 400 plus sq. ft. When you step inside you immediately feel the old fashioned southern charm that attracts many of its residents.
The monthly rent, which ranges from $2,550 to $3,995, includes three home cooked meals a day and snacks as well as housekeeping and laundry services. Assistance with medication or grooming needs is also provided at no extra cost. “We have staff to serve them whatever their needs are, including trained med techs to help with their medication needs,” said Resident Relations Coordinator, Jan Meservey.
For those requiring medical care, Savannah Court offers several levels of medical care at an additional cost or tenants can see their own personal physicians. A 24 hour staff is on hand, however, to aid with basic needs.
Some seniors have been living at Savannah Court for as long as seven years. “We actually keep them out of the nursing homes because they’re treated so well,” shares Meservey. “The families love it because it is such a warm and homey atmosphere. It’s not institutionalized,” she adds. Walter Chapman, a resident for more than five years, has formed great friendships with both the staff and other residents. “There couldn’t be a better place right here on this Earth,” he says.
Rhonda Fournier, Executive Director of Savannah Court, said that besides the many wonderful offerings at Savannah Court, stability and community are at the top. Many of the staff members have been employed for five or more years, so the residents face very few uncomfortable changes when it comes to the people that help care for them.
