The Brandon Outreach Clinic will host its Second Annual Kentucky Derby Party on Saturday, May 4 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Center Place, located at 619 Vonderburg Dr. in Brandon. Tickets are $75 per person. All proceeds will benefit the Brandon Outreach Clinic, the area’s only clinic providing free healthcare to the low income uninsured.
The Brandon Outreach Clinic’s Second Annual Kentucky Derby Party is a fun and exciting event. Attendees will view a live stream of the race. There will be Derby Parry food such as Kentucky Hot Browns, free open bar, and dessert and coffee bar. What would a Kentucky Derby Party be without a Mint Julep and fancy hats?! So put on your finest and see if you can win the Most Beautiful Hat Contest or the Most Creative Ladies’ Hat Contest or the Dapper Gentleman Contest.
In addition to the food, race and Mint Juleps, there will be a silent auction featuring great items such as Disney tickets, dinner cruises and spa packages.
Last year, the Brandon Outreach Clinic raised $20,000 at its first fundraiser. According to Debbie Meegan, Executive Director, “Every year our expenses increase. We must pay for lab tests and medications which are critical when treating primary care patients.” Meegan added, “We do not want to cut services. We have to provide the lab work and medications because our clients simply cannot afford them.”
The Brandon Outreach Clinic was established in 1989. Each year, the Brandon Outreach Clinic provides over 8,500 patient visits. This is done with the help of over 220 active volunteers that include physicians, nurses, pharmacists and clerical workers. If you are in the medical field and have the time and desire to volunteer your services, the Brandon Outreach Clinic is a great organization.
The Brandon Outreach Clinic cannot provide vital services without the help of the community. The Second Annual Kentucky Derby Party is a great and easy way to support a wonderful local non-profit. The Brandon Outreach Clinic is a 501(c)(3) non-profit located at 517 N. Parsons Ave. in Brandon.
