Rep. Jake Raburn’s new congressional district office in Valrico recently held a ribbon cutting with the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce. The office, located at 3618 Erindale Dr., in Valrico, will serve to help the constituents of District 57 to keep in touch with their representative.

Raburn was active in the Florida House of Representatives during the spring legislative session, sponsoring or co-sponsoring bills on everything from agriculture and wildlife conservation to family law and cancer treatment.

As a field office, the new headquarters will field questions, comments and concerns from citizens throughout southeastern Hillsborough County.

“We want to hear from you if there’s anything we can do for you or for your family or your customers,” Raburn said during the ribbon cutting.

The new office, coordinated and run by District Secretary Mary Lafollette, will not only help Rep. Raburn to keep in touch with the needs of his constituency, but will also allow people in District 57 to keep up-to-date on the legislature in Tallahassee and how their government is working for them, according to Raburn.

He stressed that Lafollette and staff would strive to answer any question or concern that they could.

“If [Lafollette] doesn’t know the answer, she knows how to find the answer,” Raburn said.

Many supporters turned out for the ceremony, braving harsh weather to show their support for Raburn and his new district office, including several members of the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce and local business owners.

The district office is now officially open for business, and Lafollette says she is eager to work with residents to stay in touch with their representative in Tallahassee.
