Zeina Park, Twin Lakes’ beautiful community park in Valrico, is the perfect setting for an art festival. On Saturday, September 28, the 5th Annual Art in the Park will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Twin Lakes is located east of Lithia Pinecrest Rd. at the end of Bloomingdale Ave.

From its humble beginnings, the Art in the Park has become an annual, eagerly awaited event by both artists and lovers of art.

Art in the Park organizer Lisa Harmon said, “It is a pleasure to bring local artists and our community together in this intimate setting. Visitors to our community are immediately struck with the beauty of Zeina Park. The park covers approximately 15 acres and is full of majestic oak trees, some of which are over 100 years old. These old oaks provide a natural canopy over the park and produce a shaded environment for Art In The Park.”

Harmon added, “We have great support from the Brandon League of Fine Arts. This year we expect to have between 75 and 100 artists displaying oil paintings, watercolor paintings, hand-made jewelry, quilting, photography, wood working, pottery and much more.”

Organizers are planning to have food vendors on site. An evening concert in the park is also being planned. “This is a unique way to bring the community together in an appreciation of the arts. A concert in the park is a great way to cap off a wonderful day,” said Harmon.

The cost for participants who are not residents of Twin Lakes is a mere $10.00. Anyone interested in participating can register via email at LMHarmon1@juno.com. Art in the Park is not limited to only visual artists. Musicians are welcome as well.

When registering, please provide your name, art form and phone number. All artists who participate must provide their own table and tent. Art in the Park is free to the public.
