The much anticipated Egg & I, a breakfast and lunch restaurant, will officially open on Monday, September 23. The Egg & I is located at 11220 Sullivan St. at the Winthrop Town Centre in Riverview.

Franchise owners, Michael and Renelda Sells, are long time Brandon residents. They raised their family in the area and are committed to serving the greater Brandon area in many ways.

The Egg & I is committed to freshness and “a great taste in every bite.” Everything is fresh and made from scratch. Breakfast will feature five different kinds of Benedicts, omelets, fritattas and skillet hash. Whole wheat pancakes, waffles and gourmet coffee round out the breakfast selections.

For lunch, you will want to try the fresh made sandwiches such as the Arizona smoked turkey sandwich, blackened fish tacos and the soup of the day that is made from scratch on a daily basis.

The Egg & I will be open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

On Sunday, September 22 the Sells will open Egg & I from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. to invited guests for a fundraiser for ECHO of Brandon. The meal will be free, but the invited guests are asked to make a generous donation to ECHO. “We picked ECHO because so many people in the community spoke highly of the work they do there,” said Michael Sells. “It was a perfect fit for us. ECHO is serving the community, and we wanted to do something local that would touch the greater Brandon area,” added Sells.

In addition to this giving spirit, there is a meeting room in the Egg & I that is available to the community for meetings and presentation. The room holds 30 people and will have a 56 inch flat screen TV which will be perfect for presentations.

When the Sells started their location search, they knew that they wanted to be in Eastern Hillsborough County. One name soon emerged as a prime choice- Winthrop. Michael Sells said, “We love this area. We could not find a better location.” Renelda Sells added, “We’re very excited to be a part of the Winthrop Retail Community. We are happy to be close to the community where we raised our family.”
