Hillsborough County Sheriff’s detectives are now investigating the death of a 21-year-old Gibsonton woman that was discovered early this morning (January, 18) in Riverview.
Deputies said, the nude body of Meaghan E. Casady was found by a driver of a sanitation truck for Progressive Solutions, behind the Summerfield Plaza, located at 11323 Big Bend Road in Riverview.
Colonel Donna Lusczynski of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office briefed the media, calling it a Suspicious Death Investigation.
“The cause of death has not yet been determined and we are asking the community for any information they may have in connection with the investigation,” Lysczynski said.
HCSO spokes person Larry McKinnon said that a 911 call came in at 7:20 am that a deceased female was discovered at the rear of the plaza.
“We were able to identify the victim and have notified the family,” McKinnon said.
The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene and transported Casady to the morgue where an autopsy will be conducted to determine official cause of death.
Homicide detectives and technicians with the Crime Scene Unit are now processing the crime scene for any latent forensic evidence and will provide further updates.
Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance for anyone who may have any knowledge of Casady’s activities during the last 24 hours to call HCSO at 813-247-8200.
Anyone with any information regarding this investigation and who wants to be eligible for a cash reward, is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477), or report anonymously online at www.crimestopperstb.com or text “CSTB plus your tip” to C-R-I-M-E-S (274637).
