Many neighborhoods award Yard of the Month to one lucky homeowner in their community. In February, Chuck and Marcia Hoening in Bloomingdale Estates won Yard of the Month, which is a program in their community sponsored by Ace Hardware of Bloomingdale that includes a sign in their yard designating their award and a $25 gift certificate to Ace. The Hoenings have been married for 49 years and have been living in their current home for 31 years, having lived in several other states previously including Nebraska, Virginia, Ohio and Hawaii.
This is the first time the Hoenings have won an award for their yard and they are very proud. The Hoenings have their lawn mowed by Heritage Lawn and Landscapes and their tree and shrub care is done by Plant It Earth for Lawn. They have two sons, Jeff and Eric, two daughters-in-law, Kerrie and Courtney and four grandchildren, Dirk, Zack, Megan and Will, all of which live nearby in Florida.
