FishHawk resident and dentist, Joseph Wareham, D.M.D. may have left his home in Maryland in 2003 for sunny Florida, but his dental practice’s name reflects his northern roots.
In homage to the beautiful flowering trees that dot the landscape of the nation’s capital in springtime, Wareham named his new practice Cherry Blossom Dentistry.
“I don’t miss the state’s cold weather and taxes, but the pink and white flowers were a sight to behold,” said Wareham, who has a painting of the flowers, created by a friend, hanging in his home.
Located at 13431 FishHawk Blvd. in the River Springs Town Center, Cherry Blossom Dentistry offers comprehensive exams, hygiene services, treatment of periodontal (gum) disease, extractions, fillings, oral surgery, teeth whitening plus crown and bridge work.
Wareham earned his dental degree from Nova Southeastern College of Dental Medicine in Fort Lauderdale. He stays up-to-date on the latest advancements in dentistry in order to provide the most current treatment options for his patients. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association and the West Coast District Dental Association.
Part of his office’s commitment to serving patients includes providing personalized, gentle and informed care.
“Patients are unique individuals who have placed a great deal of trust in me and my team and I value each and every relationship,” said Wareham.
Riverview resident, Dawn Koontz, became a devoted patient after he treated her mother, who had lymphoma and needed a gentle dentist. He was understanding and took very good care of her. When she passed away in November, she knew it was time to take care of her own teeth.
“I would drive hundreds of miles if necessary to be treated by Dr. Wareham,” said Koontz. Wareham said it’s all in a days’ work. “I like helping people and in dentistry people come to you with a problem and you can fix it and give them a better smile,” he said.
