The Valrico Animal Clinic has two fantastic groomers who will love and care for your dog as much as you do. Shelby Fincher and Juliana Ospina, both of Brandon, are to put it mildly, dog lovers.
Fincher has worked at Valrico Animal Clinic as a kennel technician since moving to Florida in January 2013. Fincher said, “I wanted a job where I could enjoy the animals and really love on them.” Fincher added. “As a groomer, I get kisses all day and I get to take care of the dogs.”
Ospina added, “I love dogs. I thought about becoming a veterinary technician, but felt that grooming would be a better fit for me.” Ospina attended Tampa Bay Academy. Both are considered novice groomers but their love of dogs and excitement about their profession is obvious.
Grooming is an important part of taking care of your pet. This means making sure that the coat is brushed, trimmed and clean. When your dog is properly groomed on a regular basis (every four to six weeks), it not only looks good but feels better.
Valrico Animal Clinic is a full service veterinary hospital that is committed to making sure that your dog is well cared for and happy during their visit. Grooming is not always a quick process. “We keep in mind the comfort of your dog at all times.” said Christine Karow, business manager. “With puppies, you need to make sure that their first grooming is a good experience or they can become fearful of being groomed. Elderly pets may need frequent breaks because standing for long periods might be difficult for them. With large dogs, we try to make them comfortable by using our large boarding kennels instead of cages if necessary.” In addition, any medical problems noted can be addressed the same day as your grooming appointment.
