The Brandon Outreach Clinic will host its Third Annual Kentucky Derby Party on Saturday, May 3 from 4-8 p.m. at Center Place located at 619 Vonderburg Dr. in Brandon. Tickets are $75 per person. All proceeds will benefit the Brandon Outreach Clinic, the area’s only clinic providing free health care to low income uninsured individuals.
The Brandon Outreach Clinic’s Third Annual Kentucky Derby Party is a fun and exciting event. Attendees will view a live stream of the race. There will be Derby-themed party food such as Kentucky hot browns. Attendees can also enjoy a free open bar and dessert and coffee bar. No Kentucky Derby party is complete without a mint julep and fancy hats. Attendees are invited to wear a hat and enter the Most Beautiful Hat contest, the Most Creative Ladies’ Hat contest or the Dapper Gentleman contest.
In addition to the food, race and mint juleps, there will be a silent auction featuring great items such as Disney tickets, dinner cruises and spa packages.
Last year the Brandon Outreach Clinic raised $24,000 that was used directly for patient care. For 25 years, the 
Brandon Outreach Clinic has been providing free medical care to uninsured residents of eastern Hillsborough County. Debbie Meegan, Executive Director of the Brandon Outreach Clinic said, “Every year our expenses increase. We are compelled to pay for lab tests and medications as they are critical to the treatment of primary care patients.”
Each year, the Brandon Outreach Clinic provides over 8,500 patient visits. This is done with the help of over 220 active volunteers which include physicians, nurses, pharmacists and clerical workers. The Brandon Outreach Clinic cannot provide life-saving services without the help of the community. The Third Annual Kentucky Derby Party is a great and easy way to support a local non-profit that not only provides health care to those in need, but helps keep individuals employed, out of emergency rooms and adds value to the overall health of the community.
