The Village Players will present The Legend of Frankenstein, an original play by Carlton Jones during the spookiest month of the year, October. The play will premiere on Friday, October 17 at 7 p.m. with Village Players’ now famous Dinner Theatre. The cost to attend is just $25 and attendees will get to enjoy not only a meal provided by Brandon Pizzeria but first rate community theatre. All proceeds will benefit restoration efforts of the Village Players’ home venue, the historic James McCabe Theatre, located at 506 5th St. in Valrico.
The Legend of Frankenstein is a play inspired by the Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley novel, Frankenstein. In addition to opening night, the Village Players will perform the show on Saturday, October 18 and 25 and Friday, October 25 at 8 p.m. Two matinees at 3 p.m. are planned for Sunday, October 19 and 26.
The cost to attend is $15 for general admission, $13 for students, seniors and military with an I.D. and $12 for groups of 10 or more. Cash and check only are accepted at the door. The Village Players will follow up the “spooktacular” performances of The Legend of Frankenstein with a costume party on Halloween, Friday, October 31.
