The Tampa area is home to many military members, including active duty, retired and reservists. This Tuesday, November 11 in honor of Veterans Day, several area businesses are thanking those that serve and have served by offering deep discounts or freebies. Here are some that are being offered locally.
Lowry Park Zoo – Free Admission
In honor of Veterans Day, military personnel (active-duty, retirees and veterans) receive free zoo admission on that day. The military member will need to show a Department of Defense photo ID at the zoo’s ticket windows. As many as three direct dependents of the military personnel are also entitled to free admission. Busch Gardens – Discount Tickets
Veterans get 50 percent off tickets now through Tuesday, November 11 and must be used by Sunday, December 21. Active duty military members who already used their free admission for the year can also get 50 percent off tickets. Visit seaworldparks.com/en/buschgardens-tampa.
LEGOLAND Florida Resort is proud to offer free admission to military veterans of the United States Armed Forces leading up to Thanksgiving in the month of November. From Saturday, November 1 through Sunday, November 23 veterans will receive free admission to LEGOLAND Florida, along with 50 percent off tickets for up to six accompanying guests. Great Clips, the world’s largest hair salon brand, is giving veterans a free haircut from Veteran’s Day, Tuesday, November 11, through Wednesday, December 31. Customers can come into any Great Clips salon on Tuesday, November 11 and with the purchase of a service, receive a free haircut card to give to a veteran. Limit one card per customer. On Tuesday, November 11, from open to close, veterans and active duty military can choose from a free signature Thank You Meal menu that includes some of Applebee’s favorite items, including a 7 oz. House Sirloin, The American Standard All-In Burger, Three-Cheese Chicken Penne, Fiesta Lime Chicken, Double Crunch Shrimp, Chicken Tenders Platter or Oriental Chicken Salad. Golden Corral – Free Dinner Buffet
At all of its restaurants nationwide, Golden Corral will serve free dinner buffets with beverage from 5– 9 p.m. on Monday, November 17 to any person who is serving or has served in a United States Military branch, including the National Guard and Reserves – identification is not required. Boston Market – Free Chicken with Purchase
Stop into any Boston Market on Veterans Day and show a military ID and receive a free whole chicken with the purchase of a family meal. Visit www.bostonmarket.com.
California Pizza Kitchen – Free Pizza
On Tuesday, November 11, all veterans or active duty military personnel will be able to get any pizza from the menu for free (dine-in only). Please come in uniform or bring a military ID or other proof of service. Visit www.cpk.com.
