Tampa, Fla. – (November 19, 2014) – In August 2015, Hillsborough County Public Schools will open an addition at Lennard High School to provide space for new growth in the area and offer relief to the overcrowded East Bay High School.
The attendance boundaries of Brandon, East Bay, Lennard, Riverview, and Spoto high schools will be impacted in an effort to balance enrollment among the high schools. Some students currently assigned to East Bay and Riverview high schools are proposed to be reassigned to Brandon, Lennard, Riverview, and Spoto high schools.
Seniors (current juniors who will be seniors next year – class of 2016) will be allowed to remain at their current high school. These changes will be effective for the school year starting August 2015. The proposed high school boundary changes are not final until they go before the School Board for a vote in early 2015.
Two meetings will be held for the community to review the proposed high school boundary changes and provide input. The same information will be available at both meetings.
