ARTBookWeb (2)Valrico resident and author Steve Altier has written and published his second illustrated children’s book, Gabby and Maddox Adventures in Italy! The inspiration for this second book starring Gabby and her brother, Maddox, came about after a trip Altier and his wife took to Italy.

“My wife and I were fortunate to spend two weeks in Italy about two years ago. The history of this country is very fascinating. I wanted to share that experience, along with the history of the country with children,” said Altier.

In the book, the fun begins when Gabby and her brother, Maddox, set out on a trip to Italy. When they arrive, their imaginations take them all the way back to ancient Rome. Readers are invited to join the siblings as they enjoy Roman chariot races and visit the famous coliseum where great gladiator battles were fought. Gabby and Maddox also take time to visit the Sistine Chapel to see Michelangelo’s famous artwork. The duo’s journey also includes stops in Pisa, where they visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and a final stop in Venice, the city entirely built on the water. Along the way, the children learn  lessons about bullying and good sportsmanship.

“There are a lot of fun facts referenced in the book along with a message of good sportsmanship and anti-bullying. My hope is that they will enjoy going back in time to the days of ancient Rome with chariot races, gladiator battles, the painting of the Sistine Chapel and going to the Leaning Tower of Pisa,” said Altier.

As with Altier’s first children’s book, We Can’t Move At Christmas!, Altier published Gabby and Maddox Adventures in Italy! using AuthorHouse, a leading provider of independent book publishing, marketing and bookselling services for authors around the globe.
