Local business owner and Riverview resident, Brian Kleinschmidt’s “Mis-Spelling Bee” commercial entry is one of 10 Finalists in the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl Contest. Along with the other 9 Finalists, Kleinschmidt will attend Super Bowl XLIX and watch the game in Arizona from a private suite where all of the contestants and those viewing from home will see the winning commercial announced live. Super Bowl XLIX is set for Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015 on NBC.
In the smart and clever “Mis-Spelling Bee” two spellers battle it out for the win by trying to lose. With a college scholarship on the line for the winner and free Doritos for the runner-up, you see just how far the contestants will go to sabotage each other’s chances. Nobody will see the surprise twist that comes at the end and that is exactly the way Brian likes it.
He majored in Radio and Television at The University of Central Florida, but life led Brian down a different path. “I’ve always put my sails up and let the wind guide my direction” Brian says. The wind took him around the United States with his former marketing career and around the world as a contestant on The Amazing Race, but it ultimately brought him back home to Tampa, FL. where it all started.
Now the owner of three Anytime Fitness gyms, Brian is able to not only change people’s lives, but genuinely save people’s lives. He is doing what he loves and loving what he does, but in the back of his mind he has always had the need and desire for a creative outlet. Crash the Super Bowl has given him that outlet and the world as his audience.
The Mis-Spelling Bee commercial was filmed at a local community theater with the help of Brian’s friends and family. By keeping the shoot a family-and-friend affair, newcomer and amateur producer, Brian Kleinschmidt created his original and witty commercial in just a couple days for under $500.
