For the second year, Sunset Bay Chapel will host its annual “Dogapalooza” on Sunday, February 8 from 12 Noon-3 p.m. Pastor Jason Scott said, “We love our community and are so grateful to be located in an area that not only supports the people, but their pets as well. We want to help in this effort by welcoming all, humans and animals alike, for an amazing day of fun and support for local adoption, foster and pet rescue programs. Please come show your support and meet some new neighbors and furry friends.”

All dogs are welcome as long as they are leashed. At this free family event, there will be pet rescues there with animals looking for their forever homes. Along with the rescues, there will be some food trucks, music, kids’ activity tents, raffles, variety crafts and vendors. Some of the participants are Dog Gone Holistic, Canine Cabana, Mobile Vet Clinic, Animal Coalition of Tampa (ACT), Friends of Hillsborough County Animal Services, Inc. (FOHCAS), and many more. Last year’s first event was a success and this year promises to be even better.

Heather Pyle brought her dachshund last year and both she and her pet enjoyed the event. The hope is that more dogs will find forever homes. Visitor Katie Mullis Busciglio said, “We had such a blast and were so happy to find out a lot of doggies had adoption applications.”

This year Bark For Life will participate. This is a program offering many fun family activities benefiting cancer survivors. It will offer a dog walk, prizes, dog costume contests, paw prints, and much more. Registration is onsite for those wishing to participate. Bark For Life presents an opportunity for people to be empowered through their canine companion
partnerships and to contribute to cancer cures through the mission of the American Cancer Society.

Dogs bring the warm hearted feelings of wagging tails to the American Cancer Society Bark For Life to make the Bark a happy and meaningful community event to support the mission of the American Cancer Society. Sunset Bay Chapel is located at 6026 Churchside Dr. in Lithia. Prior to the event, all are welcome for coffee and service from 10-11:30 a.m.
