The Greater Seffner Area Chamber of Commerce will host its first ever New Teacher Breakfast on Thursday, August 20 at Armwood High School beginning at 8:30 a.m. The title sponsor for the event is Suncoast Credit Union.
Libhart said, “This event is being held to welcome teachers who are new to our area schools. This means all teachers who are new to a school, not just first year teachers, are invited to attend. We are inviting schools in our primary service area.”
Libhart added, “With a background working in both business and public schools, I have a firm appreciation for the value that our educators bring to the business community.”
The goal of the New Teacher Breakfast is to welcome and show appreciation not only to new teachers but to school leaders. It is also used to remind businesses of the important contribution schools make to the community. Finally, it provides an opportunity for businesses to build a relationship with new members of the community.
In an effort to forge community spirit, each school will present a team of new teachers who will perform a school cheer. The winning team will receive a trophy.
All area businesses are encouraged to participate by donating door prize or goodie bag items.
