Growing up, Tampa native Bobby Shiver’s boyhood home, a wooden clapboard structure, didn’t have air conditioning. Come to think of it, neither did the schools he attended or his first car.
“There really wasn’t an air conditioning boom in Florida until the 60’s,” he said.
After a career as a jet engine mechanic in the Air Force, Shiver moved back to Florida and discovered his next venture.
“My wife convinced me to go to technical school to learn how to install and repair air conditioning and heating units and after working on jets found it came naturally to me,” he said.
The first air conditioning unit he installed was in his mother’s house, much to her delight.

Regencia hired Shiver, who promptly replaced her old unit.
“They finished the job in less than two days and even cleaned up after themselves,” she said. “I now recommend them to my friends.”
