On Friday, October 9 join the Brandon Ballet for an evening of craft beers, food trucks, and ballet. All proceeds from the event will go toward the Brandon Ballet. The fun will take place from 7-10 p.m. at the Winthrop Barn located at 13129 Bloomingdale Ave. in Riverview. Tickets for adults are $25. Guests must show ID in order to get a wristband to enjoy the craft beer. Tickets are $10 for those under 21. Tickets can be purchased at www.tickettailor.com/all-tickets/10766/9a27/.

In addition to great music courtesy of Big Beats Entertainment, a silent auction and crafts, attendees will be treated to a mini performance of the upcoming 2nd Annual Brandon Ballet’s presentation of the classical ballet Dracula. This preview will leave guests wanting more of the original ballet which will be presented at the Centro Asturiano de Tampa Theatre on Saturday, October 17. Tickets for the ballet will be on sale at Beers For Barres.

Artistic Director, Octavio Martin said, “Dracula is a really good ballet for people who have never seen a ballet. It is based on ballet techniques, but it incorporates modern and contemporary dance as well as theatrical aspects such as props and fake blood.”

Beers For Barres is about more than just tasting beer. It is an opportunity for everyone in the community to come out and support the Brandon Ballet, a non-profit that has been serving the greater Brandon area since 1993.

Lyndsey Ladewig, a member of the Brandon Ballet’s Board of Directors, is the chair of the event. Ladewig said, “I got the idea for this event from a similar event that the Boston Ballet held. I wanted to do something like that here in Brandon as I thought it would be a good way to bring the community together.”
