The last several months have been exciting for the Duckworth family of Apollo Beach. Every where they go, Walmart, Publix, Subway, they see bays of their niece’s competition flavor of Lay’s Potato chips that not only made her a winner, but now a finalist in the Grand Prize of $1 million. Hailey Green, niece of local resident Randy Duckworth, honored her grandmother by creating the Lay’s Southern Biscuits and Gravy flavor for the Do Us A Flavor Contest.
She was first narrowed down to 100 finalists and finally, made it to the final four flavors that were not only produced by Lay’s but distributed throughout the United States where the public has the opportunity to vote for the favorite flavor and perhaps, make her a millionaire through October 18.
Each day, Duckworth encourages, there are 4 ways to vote for this flavor and he is asking for his neighbors to vote all four ways, every day!
Green who lives in Noblesville, IN, says her flavor inspiration is, “My Grandma (Nonnie) and Grandpa are from Tennessee, and Nonnie is a walking cookbook full of southern staples. My absolute favorite dish that she makes is her homemade biscuits & gravy!”
Duckworth is very proud of his niece and has enjoyed going to his local stores including Publix and Subway and finding the chips.
“If you have tasted the chips, we hope you enjoyed them,” says Duckworth. “If you have liked, shared and voted for Hailey, Thank You.”
On October 18, Lays will announce the $1 million winner based on the number of votes.
“With only a few days left, we appreciate your continued support.”
