Celebrate the holidays in true Florida style and pick up a few items to fill that holiday wish list at the first ever Shop Local-Holiday Expo at FishHawk’s Park Square on Saturday, December 12 from 9 a.m.-12 noon.

Members and organizers of the Valrico/ FishHawk Chamber of Commerce wanted to put on an event that would benefit both the business members of the chamber, and also the residents and families in the community that it serves.

The idea of an old-fashioned, family fun expo with Bermuda Santa, games, treats for kids, business booths and local crafters, all gathering for a holiday event was developed and the first annual Shop Local Holiday Expo was created.

The event will be held in Park Square in the center of FishHawk Ranch on Saturday, December 12, 9 a.m.-12 noon.

Booth spaces are still available.

Join 46 local business booths and take a photo with Florida Santa and his sleigh pulled by sponsored flamingos which have been decorated by local businesses in the first Holiday Flamingo Challenge. Each flamingo is sponsored by a local business and a judge will determine the best decorated flamingo to be “crowned” during the event.

Families will enjoy music, shop the local business booths, enjoy games and hopefully pick up a few treats for holiday gift giving.

“We wanted to host an event that helped introduce our businesses to the community and also make it fun for parents and families this holiday season,” said Valrico/FishHawk Chamber President Bridget Jenkins Wilson, owner of Cardinal Roofing.

Sign up at www.valricofishhawk.org. Chamber member booths cost $50 for members with corporate challenge flamingo. Non-chamber member booths cost $100 with corporate challenge flamingo. Proceeds from the event will benefit Meals on Wheels Brandon.
