In December the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce was invited to celebrate the second anniversary of two of its valued members, Oops-A-Daisy, LLC and FirstLight HomeCare. A double ribbon cutting ceremony was conducted to honor the occasion.

Salons by JC Opens in Valrico
Salons by JC will open its fourth Florida location in Valrico. The salon, located in the Lithia Crossing Shopping Center next to Stein Mart, will host a Grand Opening event and ribbon cutting ceremony with the Valrico Fishhawk Chamber on Monday, January 25 from 3–6 p.m. There will be music, food, drinks and a raffle drawing.
Salons by JC offers a salon-suite business model. Walmart Hiring for Relocated Bloomingdale Walmart
Walmart is hiring for the relocated Walmart slated to be completed this spring in Bloomingdale. This hiring process usually results in about 200 additional jobs. A hiring kiosk has opened inside the current store located at 949 E. Bloomingdale Ave. Applications will be accepted Monday through Sunday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Interested applicants may also apply online at careers.walmart.com.

Walmart provides a benefits program to eligible full- and part-time associates. Ribbon Cutting for IRockNails
IRock Nails has opened in Apollo Beach and is a new member of the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce. Holiday Charity Ball in Brandon Celebrates Four Years
The Fourth Annual Brandon Holiday Charity Ball was held at The Regent in December with an evening extravaganza of entertainment, food, live music and silent auction items benefiting Toys for Tots of Tampa Bay. Holiday Charity Ball attendees raised $5,000 and donated over 28 overflowing boxes of toys at a time when the Tampa Toys for Tots organization has seen a greater need for toys. $10 Million Comprehensive Cancer Center Opens in Brandon
The new $10 million Brandon Cancer Center, located at 403 S. Kings Ave., celebrated its grand opening in November with a ribbon-cutting conducted by patients, staff and dignitaries. Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS) is introducing the community to the newly renovated office site. The office is located in a 38,400-sq.-ft. medical building featuring evidence-based design and state-of-the-art doctor offices, exam rooms, PET/CT, high-dynamic-range imaging equipment and a linear accelerator. Patients undergoing chemotherapy, infusion and radiation therapy will be treated in the new center.
Ace Golf Riverview Named TOP 50 Golf Range in U.S.
The Golf Range Association of America named Ace Golf Range in Riverview as a 2015 Top 50 Standalone Golf Range in the U.S. Ace Golf’s Family Entertainment Center includes a golf driving range, miniature golf, batting cages and golf pro shop. The facility was recognized as a Top 5 New Golf Range when it was built in 2003 and has received the Top 50 U.S. Golf Range award many times since then.

Prelude to a Cure’s 3rd Annual Fundraiser Hailed as a Success
Prelude to a Cure’s 3rd annual fundraiser, Sera in Italia, held in November at The Bridges, has been praised as the best one yet. With over 100 people in attendance the fundraiser ran without a glitch. Impact Holding Volunteer Training
Non-profit organization Impact educates and equips high school students to make healthy choices. The classes held by Impact include information on avoiding sexual risks including not only teen pregnancy, but STDs and STIs. Teens learn about setting relationship boundaries, refusal skills and consequences. Summer camps also teach about other high risk behaviors such as drugs, alcohol and tobacco use.
