Bell Creek Academy Hosts Information Fair During National School Choice Week
The students of Bell Creek Academy (BCA) were on hand last month as teachers and administrators shared information on the programs provided at the school. Bell Creek Academy, located at 13221 Boyette Rd. in Riverview, is a Public Charter school serving grades sixth through twelfth with a current student enrollment of 820.
The information fair, which featured presentations about the Cambridge and Galileo Programs as well as information about the school’s Legal, Business/Finance, and Marine Sciences Academies, coincided with National School Choice Week 2016, the nation’s largest-ever celebration of opportunity in education.
BCA Principal Margaret Fahringer spoke highly of the event and its message of strong education of children, an issue she said “requires deep thought.”
“School choice options allows you to choose what is best for the child,” Fahringer said adding, “It is important to inform parents of the vision and mission of Bell Creek and how that transforms into a viable curriculum that meets the needs of a range of children.”
Fahringer emphasized that BCA has programs for college bound students that are rigorous and challenging as well as programs of study for students who want a solid education leading to careers.
BCA’s vision and mission objectives include the expanding of its educational opportunities for the children of Riverview and surrounding communities.
“We are looking forward to the expansion of courses in our academies and the accomplishments of our students in the Cambridge program,” she said. “We appreciate the involvement of our parents in school activities as well as their participation in their child’s academic life.”
