LifeCare Network invites the community to join in for its community Annual Walk/Run For Their Life on Saturday, May 7. This year the theme of the event is “Be a Hero for Life!” Participants can feel free to come dressed as their favorite super hero. This year in addition to the walk will be its second annual 5K race. This year a Kids Super Fun Run has been added.
The location will be at Westfield Brandon at 500 S. Gornto Lake Rd. in Brandon. The event starts in the field near the Sears parking lot.
Family Fun Begins at 7 a.m., the 5K at 7:30 a.m. and a Rally at 8:30 a.m. At 9 a.m. the Kids Fun Run will begin and at 9:15 a.m. the 1 Mile begins (an easy route for those with strollers to wheelchairs). People of all ages can participate.
There will be activities for the whole family including bounce houses, face painting, balloons and a live band.
The registration fee for the 5K includes a Dri-Fit shirt, finisher medal and chip to chip timing. The Kids Fun Run includes a super hero cape and a medal. All participants are encouraged to help LifeCare reach its fundraising goal by getting friends and family to sponsor them. Participants can create a FundEasy page which is an easy online way to fundraise. Printed sponsorship forms are also available.
LifeCare Network’s mission is to lead those it serves to the unconditional love of Christ as it protects the sanctity of human life, promotes biblical sexuality, and proclaims God’s plan for marriage and the family. It is a 501(C)(3) non-profit outreach ministry serving the greater Brandon community since 1987 and SouthShore since 2012. Through compassionate care, education, counseling, practical assistance, and community networking, support is provided to teens, women, couples and families who are facing the challenge of an unplanned pregnancy as well as hope and healing to those suffering from the heartbreak of a past abortion.
