Hillsborough County Sheriff’s detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in a case of an early morning shooting incident that occurred a little more than a year ago in Riverview.
The shooting of a woman, on Saturday, August 29, 2015, occurred after she answered a knock at her front door.
According to authorities, at around 12:36 a.m., Angela Morales, 36, of 12924 Fennway Ridge Drive in Riverview, was home with her twin 9 year olds (boy and girl) and her husband when a knock was heard at the front door.
Detectives said that after several knocks Morales went to the door and opened it, at which time at least six shots were fired, striking Morales multiple times. The suspect(s) fled the scene in what has been described as a possible 4 door dark color Sedan type vehicle.
“There could possibly have been more than one shooter as detectives have recovered two different types of weapon casings” said HCSO spokesperson Debbie Carter.
Morales was transported to Tampa General Hospital in critical condition.
Investigators later reported that Morales had two other sons, a 17 and 21 year old, that also live at the residence, but were not home at the time of the shooting.
