Riverview welcomes some good clean fun for Ladies’ Night Out and Mom and Me events. It’s called My Social Spa, and it has participants glowing.
My Social Spa, founded by Valrico residents Laura and Rich Heruska, offers a fun night out where participants create scented bath bombs, sugar body scrubs, and other fun, fresh and natural skin pampering products. No experience is necessary, and all materials are provided including the use of the signature turquoise aprons.
Prior to opening the Spa in 2016, the couple owned AirHeads Trampoline Arena, a growing chain of Family Entertainment Centers. The idea for the do-it-yourself social spa emerged from a desire to change the way friends come together. Employees, called “Sparistas,” do the behind the scenes work of preparing ingredients and gathering supplies, allowing participants to socialize, partake in fresh food and $5 drinks, and enjoy laughter while creating memories and handmade spa items.
Since opening, the Spa has held over 20 events and assisted in creating over 800 bath bombs including seasonal scents like pumpkin and gingerbread.
“We wanted to continue our expertise in entertainment and noticed people really wanted experiences, so we brought together the craze of do-it-yourself, without the hassle, to fun and trendy places like the bar,” Heruska explained. “For a busy mom of three, it was a match made in heaven.”
Monthly events are presently held at Boca Restaurant in Winthrop and the River Hills Country Club in Riverview. Private parties and large events are also available.
The business is growing. Heruska explained, “We see this expanding in local bars, restaurants, and country clubs.”
The Mom & Me event will be held at the River Hills location on Sunday, February 12, and the 21 and up Ladies’ Night event will take place at Boca Restuarant on Tuesday, February 21.
