Metrohm USA, the North American headquarters of the global market leader in the field of chemical analysis, recently broke ground on what will be its new, 90,000 sq. ft. headquarters, targeted for completion in early 2018. The company also announced that it plans to support its growth by adding good paying, technical jobs to the region.
“We have been located in the Tampa Bay area since 2009 and feel that its proximity to major transportation hubs and the source of talent created by the many major colleges will continue to help us achieve our goals,” said Edward Colihan, President and CEO of Metrohm USA. “Metrohm USA has seen sustained growth over the past 15 years and we are very excited to offer our customers, sales team and local employees a new state-of-the-art facility.”
Metrohm USA, which employs more than 100 people at its current headquarters at 6555 Pelican Creek Circle in Riverview, will move all operations to the new facility at 9250 Camden Field Pkwy., also in Riverview.
Metrohm is one of the world’s most trusted manufacturers of high-precision instruments for chemical analysis. Founded in 1943 in Herisau, Switzerland, Metrohm operates in more than 80 countries with its own subsidiaries and exclusive distributors.
“Metrohm USA has been a valuable contributor to Hillsborough County’s business community since their establishment here in 2009,” said the Hon. Lesley “Les” Miller, Commissioner, Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners. “We are proud of the fact that you’ve done so well in this market that you’ve already outgrown 55,000 sq. ft. of space and, with the construction of this new headquarters, are strengthening your commitment to this community.”
The Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation assisted Metrohm USA with connections to CareerSource Tampa Bay as well as Hillsborough County for expedited permitting and impact fee estimates.
“As an international organization with a presence in over 80 countries, Metrohm has many opportunities to expand or relocate its headquarters elsewhere,” said Dr. Ken Atwater, chairman of the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation and president of Hillsborough Community College.
