The Tampa Bay Lightning have issued A Call To Artists for their 6th Annual Open Call To Artists to exhibit their work at Amalie Arena in downtown Tampa. This is a juried show with substantial prize money available. All artists who live and work in the greater Tampa Bay area are invited to submit art work for consideration.
All submissions are due by Thursday, September 7. Artists will be notified by Saturday, September 23 if they have been accepted into the exhibition.
The guidelines for entries to be submitted are clear. All artists must live or work in the greater Tampa Bay area. There is a special category for artists under the age of 18. Each artist may submit up to three fully completed works of art. Artwork must be original. All mediums are welcome with exclusion of free-standing sculptures. All artwork must be hanging and not larger than six feet by six feet, including the frame. A jury composed of representatives from the Tampa Museum of Art, The Museum of Fine Arts, the Dali Museum and the Ringling Museum will select pieces for display on the IOA Suite Level.
In addition to being displayed in the building, there is the opportunity to win a cash prize.
According to Kristina Hjertkvist, “The exhibit’s goal is to display images that embrace and celebrate the greater Tampa Bay community, and that can help the Arena reflect the vibrancy of the area.”
