Artists, amateurs and professionals, young and old who live in Hillsborough County, are invited to submit entries for the 2017 Hillsborough County Fair Fine Arts Show. The Hillsborough County Fair runs October 19 to 22 and October 26 to 29. The fair is held at 215 Sydney Washer Rd. in Dover (east of Brandon on SR 60).
Fine art entries must be original and not older than two years. No entry previously shown at the fair will be accepted. Adult art will be judged according to their respective media. Youth art will be defined and judged in three categories- Elementary (grades first through fifth); Middle (grade 6th through 8th); and Secondary (grades 9th through 12th).
Artists may enter up to three pieces. Each piece is not to exceed 32 inches including the frame. All 2-D art must have installed screws and wires and be ready to hang. Fine art consists of acrylic, oil, watercolor, computer/graphics, pencil, charcoal, ink, mixed media and digital fine art.

All Fine Arts entries must be hand delivered to the fairgrounds on Saturday October 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or on Monday, October 16 from 2 to 6 p.m. There is no entry fee.
Mary Jane Wagoner, Chair of the Fine Arts Show said, “As chair of this event, my goal is to increase the number of paintings accepted and entered into the competition by 15 percent. This exhibit includes artwork from adults and youth.” Wagoner added, “Every year we look to improve and welcome artist to participate in a show that is fun for all.”
If you are a creative person looking for a way to enter an arts competition, this one is for you. There is no entry fee and everyone is judged and therefore eligible to win in their category.
