Royal Maid Service owner Michael Honsa is not a rookie entrepreneur. Honsa is an international businessman, owning companies throughout South Africa and Europe. Whether the business is a car dealership or cleaning service, he said the key ingredient to success is the same.
“You can make any business a success if you have an honest and hard-working staff,” said Honsa.
With a top-notch staff being such a key ingredient to success, it was one of his first priorities after purchasing the business.
He hired Denver native Stacie Serrano to manage the business. With more than 30 years’ experience in the industry, she immediately went to work hiring a new staff and putting processes in place that would benefit customers.
Cleaning estimates can be given in-person or over the phone. She switched the cleaning products to a more environmentally-friendly line. Customers receive confirmation calls the day before her staff is scheduled to clean their homes.
“I make it a point to communicate with customers as much as possible,” she said. “Our customers are very happy right now.”
Customer Kim Herremans is one of those happy customers. She has been a customer of Royal Maid Service for more than seven years and appreciates the fact that the cleaning crew is punctual.
“They work as a team and do a great job cleaning my home,” she said.
Because the same maids clean her home at every visit, she knows she can expect the same great clean every time. “If there’s anything special that needs to be done I can talk to them and they’re so accommodating,” she said.
