New for 2018, Bell Shoals Baptist Church has started an evening of high-energy worship, dynamic prayer and relevant Bible teaching on the first Wednesday night of each month.
Aptly called First Wednesday, these events present relevant topics in today’s culture. These special services start at 7 p.m. in the Worship Center on its Brandon Campus.
“I wanted to try something on Wednesday nights that would add new energy and life to our regular programming, “ said Dr. Stephen Rummage, senior pastor at Bell Shoals Baptist Church.
In a What God Says About… series, Dr. Rummage will speak about loving your spouse in the month of April, giving and receiving forgiveness in September and understanding your Bible in December.
Invited speakers scheduled for the rest of the year include May’s guest Al Mohler, president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, the largest seminary in the world.
In June, Frank Page, the president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Executive Committee, will be talking about surviving grief after someone close to you commits suicide, and how God can heal you following such tragedies.
Nik Ripken, a missionary and author will speak on his life-and-death experiences revealed in his books The Insanity of God and The Insanity of Obedience in August.
October brings Ronnie Floyd, former president of the Southern Baptist Convention, president of the National Day of Prayer, and pastor of Cross Church in Northwest Arkansas will be talking about the importance of praying for America.
In November, Thom Rainer, president and CEO of LifeWay Christian Resources will speak about what it means to be a church member.
“We are blessed to have these speakers coming to Bell Shoals,” said Dr. Rummage. “They are some of the greatest minds in the evangelical world today.”
